National Cherry Blossom Festival, Washington, DC

Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Japan to the US with a parade and a multi-day celebration of Japanese art, food and culture.

Fourth of July on the National Mall, Washington, DC

The annual Independence Day celebration draws more than 700,000 people to the mall for picnics, an orchestral performance of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and fireworks.

DC Restaurant Week, DC Metropolitan Region

Twice a year – in January and August – more than 200 of the city’s restaurants participate in Restaurant Week and offer special discounted prix fixe menus at lunch and dinner.

Pageant of Peace and National Tree Lighting, Washington, DC

Kick off your holiday season with the Pageant of Peace on the White House Ellipse. This annual tradition features a nightly lighting of the National Tree, as well as the lighting of the Menorah and Kwanzaa-related festivities

Catch a Baseball Game at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland

Home to the Baltimore Orioles, the city’s professional baseball team, the retro-styled baseball park offers plenty of modern amenities and has inspired similarly designed stadiums around the country. The season runs from April-October.

Sunfest in Ocean City, Maryland

This free annual festival in Ocean City celebrates summer’s end and autumn’s arrival with several days of food, arts and crafts, and concerts by local and national musicians.

Annapolis Crab Feast, Maryland

Billed as the world’s largest crab feast, this annual all-you-can-eat and drink event is hosted in Maryland's capity city. Enjoy dining on Maryland's prized blue crabs plus Maryland crab soup, sweet corn on the cob, beef barbeque sandwiches, draft beer, baked goods, and ice cream.

Maryland Wine Festival

Each year, this festival celebrates Maryland’s wine regions with tastings of the best wines from the state, discussions with winemakers and fare from local chefs.

Virginia Wine Month

Virginia has more than 300 wineries, and in October they uncork their best bottles, offer local food, and host tastings and talks to celebrate their bounty.

Neptune Festival, Virginia Beach, Virginia

The King Neptune Statue takes centre stage during this seaside festival, one of the region’s top events. It includes sand sculpting and surfing contests, live music, a volleyball tournament and a grand parade.

Historic Garden Week, Virginia

Each April, visitors are invited to explore more than 250 historic homes and picture-perfect gardens throughout the state during “America’s Largest Open House.”

Floydfest, Virginia

Five days of Music, Magic, and Mountains is the theme of this music festival hosted in scenic southwest Virginia. In addition to a stellar lineup of more than 100 performers on eight stages, the festival features outdoor adventure, camping, a variety of vendors, quality food and drink, healing arts, workshops, and more.
